Dr Simone Silver
Dr Silver obtained her medical degree from Wits University and did her internship and community service in Johannesburg.
In 2008, after graduating, she completed two United States Licensing Examinations, a course in Good Clinical Practice and worked within a medical ICU in Denver, Colorado.
In 2012 she moved from the hospital setting into general practice in order to realise her passion of offering holistic and individual-based care. Her philosophy is treating the person and not just the disease. She believes that integrative medicine offers multidimensional treatment and preventative strategies required to address our complex health needs in today’s society.
Since she was a medical student she has been fascinated by the intricate interplay between the physical, psychological, societal and environmental factors in establishing and perpetuating disease. She has developed a special interest in the pathophysiology of stress and disorders such as Myalgic Encephalomyelitis / Chronic Fatigue Disorder (ME CFS) and Fibromyalgia, hormone imbalances and adrenal burnout. She is a faculty member of the South African Academy of Integrative Medicine and lectures frequently.
